Mount Gould Hospital, Plymouth

To design connections, detail, procure, fabricate, treat and erect structural steelwork to form 4 new Blocks at Mount Gould Local care centre in Plymouth. There were as 2 link bridges and a link corridor required between the new buildings. We also supplied and fixed 7 staircases to the new blocks.

Block A is a 2 storey construction with roof trusses and 2 staircases this is linked to block C by a link corridor.

Block B is a single storey rotunda construction incorporating curved eaves and roof beams this block is linked to both block A and block C.


Block C
is a single storey portal frame construction on a single storey in-situ concrete raft. The steelwork is set out on a curve to achieve this the construction was facetted. This block is linked to block D by 2 link bridges and linked to both blocks A and B as described above.


Block D
is a 2 storey portal frame construction partly built on a concrete raft it is also a facetted building such as block C.

 

In addition to the above there were also various areas of secondary steelwork which were added as the job progressed we were flexible enough to accommodate Midas’s programme requirements and deliver these items on time.
